Dear Student,

Simple harmonic motion is defined as a repeated motion of a point along a straight line, such that its acceleration is always towards a fixed point in that line and is proportional to its distance from that point. For example pendulum oscillating back and forth, motion of spring etc

Hello Aspirant,

In mechanics and physics, simple harmonic motion is a special type of periodic motion where the restoring force on the moving object is directly proportional to the object's displacement magnitude and acts towards the object's equilibrium position.

Hope it helps!
