A candidate can appear for JEE Main for three consecutive years from the year of passing in the qualifying examination. For instance if you have passed 10+2 in the year 2020 you can appear for JEE main 2020, JEE Main 2021 and JEE Main 2022 provided you must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognised board. There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main.
A candidate is eligible to appear for JEE Advanced for two consecutive years from the year of passing in the qualifying examination. So if you have passed 10+2 in the year 2020 you can appear for JEE Advanced 2020 and JEE Advanced 2021 provided you must have qualified in JEE Main 2020 and JEE MAIN 2021 respectively. The age criteria to appear for JEE Advanced is that For JEE Advanced 2021, the candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1996. SC, ST and PwD candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years they must be born on or after October 1, 1991.
