Ornithology is the study of birds, their physiology and anatomy, behavior, ecology, and evolution.


The scope of B.Sc. Ornithology is vast. Though not many people pursue this field, but it's a really good career path in today's world, where the prime focus is on biodiversity and environment. The focus is also on conducting routine research to ensure survival of birds and detect possible threats of environmental changes to lives of variety of birds.


Undoubtedly, Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural Study(SACON) is one of the best institutions for B.Sc. in Ornithology. It is located at the foothills of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, which is beneficial as it is easier to visit nearby locations to study more about birds.
