If you were to take my opinion then i think a rank upto 5k is a pretty good one because within this rank you would get all the top colleges through ts eamcet . But yes if you are planning to take cse in the top colleges then you need a little more lower ranks but if you are allright with electronics and communication and information technology.

However various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
