Hello greetings
Admission to IIT/NIT is not based on the marks but it is based on the rank because every year marks vs rank keep on changing both JEE main as well as in JEE advance.
The admission into IIT is based on JEE advanced while the admission into NIT is based on your JEE main rank.for the heman the maximum marks is 360 out of veg around 200 marks is required for a general category students to get into good NIT but these are previous years Trends as this year there are two exams conducted therefore there may be any variation.in case of JEE advanced there cannot be any prediction made because the maximum marks is not fixed and paper can be range from 300 to 500 marks anythingand also the difficulty level of JEE advanced keeps on changing every year therefore it is not possible to predict the marks required to get into the advance but a general category student get rank under 10000 is able to take admission into IIT.
Hope this helps all the best
