Candidates are offered admissions at two levels at TIFR Mumbai: postgraduate and doctoral. TIFR Mumbai admissions are offered in the following branches: biology, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, physics and computer science. TIFR Mumbai courses offered for admission are M.Sc. and Ph.D. Chemistry Integrated, M.Sc. and Ph.D. Astronomy and Astrophysics Integrated, M.Sc. and Ph.D. Nuclear and Atomic Physics Integrated, M.Sc. Biological Sciences , Ph.D. Theoretical Physics to name a few. TIFR Mumbai admission comprises two steps: a written test and an interview. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Mumbai written test is conducted in five disciplines: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science. It is to be noted that the science education entrance examination is conducted separately.
