you can do M Tech and PHD. There is no mention of age limit for these courses in IITS. I have gone through their admission Bulletin. I am planning to do M Tech from IITs @47

well there is no age limit for appearing the gate examination but even if you get a valid score you can get into colleges and iits cause the maximum age would be 30 for applying into the colleges .

There is no age limit for appearing in GATE but the issue is that most of the PSUs recruit candidates upto age 28 and in few cases 32 age is the maximum age,whereas for admission in IITs or any institute for M.tech the maximum age limit is 40,so there will be no benefit for you in appearing for GATE at age 50.
