Dear STudent,

Yes, Biotechnology do have a great career opportunity for their persuer, One can easily work in the various fields like Bio Industry, Government Hospitals, Research Labs, Content Writing (Medical), etc. after persuing this course and earn upto 3-8 lacs per annum depending on the skills and experience of the person. Any student who is contemplating on pursuing a career in Biotechnology must be aware that this field is still developing in India. After a BTech degree, students can find jobs in pharmaceutical companies, research labs and institutions in India. However, most Indian students tend to go abroad to pursue their masters or doctorate studies in Biotechnology and allied fields. Some students also shift to MBA and enter the world of business, finance and banking as their engineering background gives them the required quantitative skills to excel in these sectors. Also, many students shift to software through on-campus placements.

Hello Pilla

This is a question every biotech student ask in the duration of there degree in biotechnology. Yes there are lot of opportunities in biotechnology but there is lot of struggle too. I will tell you from engineering perspective.

There are very less opportunities in industrial sector.the package offered by these companies are also very less .

There are lot of opportunities in research area. If you are interested in research then biotech is one of the best field for you. But if you want to go in research field then your bachelor degree is of not much importance. You have to do mtech and then phd to have a strong career in research .
