Hello,

JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) Exam Pattern:

  • Exam Mode: The examination will be held through online CBT mode.
  • Subjects: JEE Main will contain questions from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics subjects.
  • Type of Questions: Objective type -Multiple Choice questions and numeric type questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Number of Questions: Question paper will contain 90 questions, in which candidates will have to attempt 75 questions. Choices will be given in section B.
  • Exam Duration: The exam duration will be 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct question will carry 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

Physical Chemistry: Some Basic concepts in Chemistry, States of Matter, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, Atomic Structure, Solutions, Redox Reactions & Electrochemistry, Equilibrium, Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, etc.

Inorganic Chemistry: General Principles & Process of Isolation of Metals, Hydrogen, p – Block Elements, s – Block Element, Co-ordination Compounds, d – and f – Block Elements, Classification of Elements & Periodicity in Properties, Environmental Chemistry, etc.

Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Organic Compounds Containing Halogens, Purification & Characterization of Organic Compounds, Hydrocarbons, Polymers, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen, Bio Molecules, Principles Related to Practical Chemistry, Chemistry in Everyday Life, etc.

Dear aspirant,

Joint entrance examination is conducted by National testing agency. It is a national level examination and considered to be one of the toughest exams in india ,so you can have an idea of how are the questions asked in the examination.

By toughest I didn't mean it is something an average student can't solve instead it requires strategic thinking, a bit of presence of mind.

It depends on how you practice and what are your preparation methods and according to that you will be able to understand the difficulty level.
