Actually NERIST has a different pattern of admissions. There is the diploma course offered to students after 10+2 through NEE II which is the entrance exam. This course is of 2 years. Candidates can further appear for NEE III after completing their diploma to avail admissions to the degree course which will be of 2 years. The institute doesn't offer a B.Tech course directly to students after class 12. You could check their details here - https://nerist.ac.in/sites/default/files/pdf/Information%20Brochure_NEE%202017.pdf. This is the information for last year but the admission process is the same every year.

Difficulty level is tough to predict but according to student reports, it is reasonable and can be written well with a moderate amount of preparation.
