If you are belonging to reserved category, then eligible otherwise you not eligible for jee mains or josaa counselling.

But you should appear in jee mains because most of the colleges take jee mains rank. Most of the colleges has 10% seats for jee mains, to admit in the colleges via jee mains rank..

As per the new changes in the pattern for Jee mains:-

For the candidates to qualify admission in IIT/NIT/IIIT and other CFTIs whose admission are based on Jee mains/advanced ranks,they should have secured atleast 75% marks in the 12th exam in the respective board exams.The qualifying marks would be 65% fir SC/ST students in the 12th examination.
