Whats the image of BITS in the mind of students. If lot of people are interested to join BITS irrespective of the branch then the cutoffs would definitely increase.
How well students have performed in the other exams. If by some reason a lot of people screw up their JEE Mains or Advanced and write BITSAT well then there is a lot of chance for cutoff increase.
How much people are informed about the reputation of BITS. And how well students have scored well in BITSAT. This point is different from the first point as many people fail to understand the application process and screw up miserably even though they score really well in BITSAT. For instance, in 2011 the cutoffs fell down by 70-80 points. The reason is not that the students scored miserably. Even though people had scored better than BITSAT 2010, many students failed to understand the process and did not apply properly which made them drop the BITS option.
