You can check the topics below which carries more weightage in the exam for chemistry in JEE Main on the basis of 2017 paper analysis
Chemical Bonding- 6.67%
S-Block- 6.67%
Alkyl Hallide, Alcohol & Ether (Reaction Mechanism)- 13.33%
Mole Concept- 10.00%

Hii..You should prefer OP Tandon for general and inorganic chemistry & Arihant Publications for organic Chemistry.
According to me,the Important Chapters for Chemistry are:-
- Atomic Structure
- Electrochemistry
- Nuclear and Surface Chemistry
- d-Block Elements
- Alkyl Halides
- Aromatic Compounds
- Gaseous and Liquid States
- Chemical Kinetics
- Chemical Bonding
- Coordination Compounds.
