See Ministry of Education ( formerly MHRD ) had increased girls seat by 14% from 2018 onwards. I belong to NIT Durgapur Mechanical Engineering. In our department there are almost 20 girls out of 150 students. You may expect similar number of girls in every mechanical department of Indian Engineering colleges.

In the year 2017 in NIT Trichy there were only 2 girls out of 108 students in Mechanical Engineering . Boy to girl ratio is always 7:1 or 8:1 in mechanical engineering.
