There are various private sectors that you will be eligible  to apply after your diploma in mechanical engineering ,such as 1.TATA GROUP ,SIEMENS,CROMPTON GREAVES . And government companies like  BHARATH HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED ,NPTC.

So its better to apply for both of the sectors
