Audiology is a branch of science that studies hearing, balance and other issues related to this. Audiologists are professionals who treat those with hearing disabilities and they also proactively prevent related damage. This field falls under the medical branch of studies.

The Indian Government established the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing. This institute is the prime institute for hearing disabilities treatment and research.

To be eligible for undergraduate courses in audiology in Ahmedabad, one must have completed 10+2 with science subjects i.e. Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 or entrance tests. Courses available for 10+2 students are Diploma in speech therapy and Audiology

B.Sc. (Audiology and Speech)

B.Sc. (Hearing language and speech)

BASLP (Bachelor in speech language Pathology)

To be an audiologist, one needs to have either Bachelors or Masters in Audiology and be registered with Rehabilitation Council of India.
