There are many ways by which you can become a forensic scientist. After 12th there are various Diploma and Bachelor programmes that you can opt for and get into the field of forensic science after completion of your degree but to be an expert or a scientist, you need to do Masters and Ph.D. also.

Admission process-

• For diploma programmes, admission is based on merit.

• For B.Sc also, admission is based on the merit i.e. class 12th percentage. Cut-offs are released prior to admission. Some colleges may have their own entrance exam too. 

• For other degrees such as B.Tech or MBBS, there are national level examinations like NEET and JEE. (But these courses are not meant for Forensics only, though after your degree you can go for a Masters in Forensic Science )

• Further for masters and doctoral courses, admission is based on the merit in your degree programme.
