In the present scenario both boys and girls are equally bright and excels in science and mathematics.Some engineering branches such as Mechanical are considered only for boys as it requires works with machinery, construction etc. Similarly in civil, students have to deal in constructing bridges , roads etc. which would be quite difficult tasks for girls. 

So, currently Computer Science is considered as one of the best engineering branches available for girls interested in engineering as it requires no feild work at all. The evolution of the Digital india is also making this course on trend.

Else everything depends on self- Interest.

There's nothing like a branch good for girls or for boys. In this century, both of the genders are equal. 

Branches like computer science, electronic and communication, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, petroleum,civil engineering, chemical engineering, aeronautical engineering top the list for government jobs. But it all depends on your interest because none of them are easy if you aren't interested.

If one wants to go for an engineering government job, then take

• Mechanical,
• If you want a job in PSUs like NTPC, IOCL, SAIL, BHEL, GAIL ONGC, etc. because vacancies in PSUs are very good in a number
• Vacancies are quite okay in ESE also
• Civil,
• If you want a job in your state government like in-state PWD, PHED, PRDD irrigation etc. In state, public service exams vacancies for civil are more than for others.
• In ESE vacancies for civil is also good comparatively.
• SSC also vacancies for civil is better than others.
• Electrical,
• vacancies are good in PSUs and quite okay in ESE also.
• ECE,
• vacancies are there in few PSUs
• CSE/IT
• vacancies are there in few PSUs and also less in number.
