Hey aspirant,

JEE Mains and JEE  Advanced are both tough as they are both national level exam. You must prepare yourself well and keep your concept very clear to successfully give these exams. However, if comparing between the two, for sure JEE Advanced is much more tougher than JEE Mains.

In JEE Mains questions involving a single concept would come. The numerical problems are also comparatively easier. If your concept is clear and you find out the concept then the problems will be easily solved.

In JEE Advanced the number of questions are less but each questions have several concepts inter linked. You have to think very carefully and solve each of these concepts. You don't have to complete the whole paper but at least solve some decent quantity of questions.

In JEE Mains you have to solve more questions to get a good rank but In JEE Advanced you can solve a little less to get a good rank.

Only the first 2,50,000 rankers of JEE Mains are eligible to give the JEE Advanced examination. It is a gateway to JoSAA counselling. So, don't expect the process to be easy.

Hope this helps,

All the best!

Hello!

JEE Advanced if definitely tougher than JEE Mains . JEE Mains and Advacned are engineering entrance exam for premier institutions like IITs. Only those candidates who qualify JEE mains are eligible for JEE advanced. Admissions to IITs will be on the basis of JEE advanced score. For other institutions like NITs, IIITs. admissions happen through Mains score. JEE Mains is conducted by NTA whereas Advanced is conducted by IIT Delhi. They include the syllabus of 11th and 12th. Also, the question paper pattern varies a lot for both.

Jee advanced can only be given if you have qualified Jee Main and other eligibility criteria as well. While Jee Main is conducted for admission to NIT, IIITs, CFTIs and other Engineering colleges, Jee Advanced is conducted for admission to IITs and IISc, top most Engineering colleges of India. So undoubtedly the level of Jee Advanced is higher than Jee Main. In Jee Advanced the number of questions decreases but the level increases. Tricky questions are asked. Most of the questions of Jee Advanced require higher order thinking and analytical skills.
