See currently the major streams offered in most of the b-schools are Financial Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, General Management, Strategic Management, Analytical Management, Human Resources Management.

Every company needs professional employees from all the stream so as to function effectively, attain continuous growth and sustain in this competitive environment. So none of the stream is better than any other steam. In terms of openings or Jobs offered it varies according to market supply and demand.

Seeing the current scenario of market there is more demand for financial and marketing management.

For selecting fields you need to figure out with which stream you are more comfortable or have more interest. If you go in premier institutes like IIMs there you get a chance to study subjects from all the streams for a while year and then you can select subjects of your choice in second year. This gives you enough time to figure out the stream of your interest. Even if you need to pick major and minor at early stage then also go through subjects and contents that are going to be taught to you and try to figure out which suits your interest.
