Hello Chitransh!

After completing your Diploma in Nautical Sciences, you  can look for opportunities in industry, academics, consulting firms, government, non-government organizations, and owning your own businesses. Also working in major areas like marine industries, marine electronics, tourism, aquaculture, hydro-geology, engineering, environmental education, environmentally based recreation, water quality management, and communication, will do good.


However, you can go for further studies, and complete your Masters Course in Nautical Science. Several job profile are waiting for you :

  1. Marine Engineering Instructor , who is responsible for teaching, training, and assessing on marine courses.
  2. Operations Manager , who is responsible for coordinating activities that affect business requirements and operational decisions.
  3. A Training Navigating Officer , who is responsible for piloting a ship, operating navigational equipment like electronic charts, radar, gyrocompass, etc.
  4. However, you can also go for Lecturers , who are responsible for designing, preparing, and developing teaching and course materials.
  5. Last but not the least, a Marine Engineer , who is responsible for designing, and developing for the installation of ship machinery and other equipment including power supply systems, and propulsion machines.

The salary package for the above profiles, are around 3-8 lakhs INR , with the highest package of the Marine Engineer which is around, 9-10 lakhs INR.

Hello,

DNS or Diploma in Nautical Science is is a purely navigation sector course. Which means that you have the option of going only for the navigation line or Deck Side . To be eligible for choosing the engine side you have to do Marine Engineering which is a 4 year course.
