Decrease of blood viscosity has a relation with the growth of the foetus. Blood viscosity decreases with the plasma viscosity. It is seen significantly low from 21-30 weeks of gestation period. According to NCBI, change of packed cell volume may strongly contribute hemorheologically to decrease in peripheral resistance during second trimester. Hope this helps.
