hey, taking a gap or giving an improvement exam will not affect anything if you are worried about it. If you do well in your exam and also on the SAT they will consider your marks. People take long gaps between their studies, of course, it will be a disadvantage because they are losing a year but it will in no way affect the admission process if you do really well in your exams.
