Course Overview

The SWAYAM, an initiative by the Government of India, is a platform developed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), NPTEL and IIT Madras assisted by Google Inc. and Persistent Systems Ltd. is a Government initiative. The prime focus of this programme is to avail specialized and practice-based learning to all the people, including the underprivileged through the digital revolution.

The Introduction to R Software programme by SWAYAM is prepared to form an essential foundation of R software. There is no worry about the cost aspect of this software because it can be used free of cost. R has its own programming language that is very strong in nature, making it capable of performing the computations, simulations, data analysis and manipulations of mathematical and statistical tasks. The Government certification provided at the end of this course is valid in all industries involved in the field of mathematical and statistical computations, programming and simulations making it professionally beneficial.

The teaching methods are really interactive and the execution of all the commands is explained using slides, which ensures practice-based learning, contains on point audio/video modules and weekly assignments for effective learning. Eligibility Criteria

Education

Mathematical educational background will be helpful but is not necessary for pursuing Introduction to R Software course by SWAYAM.

Certification Qualifying Details

After successful completion of this course, the candidate will be provided with an e-certificate having logos of both NPTEL and IIT Kanpur. The certification examination is divided into two parts, Average assignment score and exam score. The average assignment score should be 25% of the average of all total assignments given in the course. Exam score must be 75 percent of the proctored exam.

Candidates will be eligible for the certificate only if the average assignment score is >=10/25 and Exam score >= 30/75. Even if one of the conditions is not fulfilled, the candidate will not receive the certificate even after having a final score of >=40/100.
