Course Overview

Launching Innovation in Schools course has been designed by edX and MITx and Microsoft to enable the educators to improve the learning experience for the students. It is for school leaders of all kinds who are constantly taking initiatives in schools, taking an initiative to improve learning and teaching.

Participants of this course will be working with their colleagues on assignments and experimental activities for launching a new initiative and measuring their progress along the way. The main focus of the Launching Innovation in Schools course is the capacity-building and visioning of the participants, along with collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders at several levels. Through this course, participants will have set in motion the initiative of an instructional improvement in school or any other learning environment. 

They will be able to identify themselves as leaders and change agents. They will make various connections with peers who are also working towards the same task. They will be confident and skilled enough to lead instructional improvement initiatives. Launching the Innovation in Schools course is a part of the Microsoft K-12 Education Leadership initiative developed for giving resources to K-12 school leaders worldwide as they address the requirements of their schools for a changing educational landscape.
