Hello Ayusha!

Though the results for OUAT UG 2020 have been already declared, the counseling has not started. So, we do not know the cutoff weightage for this year. According to previous year's cutoff weightage for OUAT UG, it is expected that this year for general category the cutoff will be as follows:-

  • BSc Agriculture- 71.5- 77.5
  • B.V.Sc & A.H.- 74.5-79 or 80
  • BSc Horticulture- 68- 71.5
  • B.Tech(Agricultural Engineering)- 69- 72.05
  • B.Sc.(Forestry)-  65- 69.5
  • B.Sc.(Home Science)- 50- 68.5( in spot round the cutoff weightage will decrease)
  • B.F.Sc- 67- 69.05

For reserved categories the cutoff weightage can lower by 5 to 10 marks and may decrease more in spot rounds for all the courses above.

Hope this answer helps!

Hello Sahil!

Your OUAT weightage is calculated as follows:-

(1/4)(10th %)+ (1/4)(12th PCM/PCB average %)+ (1/4)(Marks secured in OUAT UG entrance test)

You have not mentioned your 12th PCB/PCM average %. With all the information you provided, your OUAT weightage will be calculated near about 59.85 which is really less. With this weightage, it is not possible for you to get BSc Agriculture in OUAT BBSR, Bhawanipatna or Chiplima(cutoff weightage=68.5-77). You can not get BVSc, horticulture of fisheries too as the cutoffs are higher, around 70+. You can get BSc Forestry as the spot round cutoff weightage was around 58 in the previous year. But seats in BSc forestry are less, so chances are faint. But you only have chances for BSc forestry and BSc home science(spot round cutoff weightage in previous rounds was 41.75).

If you hold any kind of reservation, your chances to get horticulture may be there in spot selection.

Hope this answer helps!

Hello aspirant!
Hope you are doing well!

You have not mentioned any category in specific.
You can admission in following colleges if you belong to mentioned category

1. SC Category
B.Sc. (Agriculture), Chiplima {CW Category (Children/Widows of Armed Forces }
B.Sc.(Agriculture), Bhawanipatna

2. ST Category
B.Sc (Agriculture),BBSR {CW Category (Children/Widows of Armed Forces }
B.Sc.(Agriculture), Bhawanipatna
B.Sc. (Agriculture), Chiplima

Hello Harapriya!

You must know that OUAT rank is decided by calculating your weightage including your (1/4) marks in OUAT CEE entrance,(1/4) 12th %(PCM or PCB average) and (1/4)10th %. Your calculated OUAT weightage marks is 65 .(you have not mentioned your PCM or PCB average marks of 12th, I calculated using the data you provided).

According to previous year trends, it is evident that it may be tough for you to get a veterinary seat as the cutoff weightage for the last years has been more than 71.5. You have not mentioned your category. If you hold category reservation, you may get a veterinary seat. (Assuming you are a PCB candidate)

But you have good chances to get BSc(Hons) Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, etc. if you are PCB candiadate as the cutoff weightage for these courses is below 70.

If you are a PCM candidate, you will most probably get a seat for B.Tech agricultural engineering.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Branches present under OUAT UG Programme are mentioned below:

B.Sc. AG (Agriculture)

B. V. Sc and A. H (Veterinary and Animal Husbandry)

B.Tech. AG (Agricultural Engineering)

B.Sc. Hort. (Horticulture)

B.Sc. Forestry

B.Sc. Fishery

B.Sc. Home Science

B.Sc. In basic Science and humanities (Phy/Chem/Bio)

So as per the present scenario of our country, there is a lot of scope for agriculture and agriculture related allied streams (as mentioned above). The present government at the centre as well as the state government is implementing various schemes for the development of agriculture and farmers community. Among all the branches in OUAT mentioned above, the most preferred ones are B.Sc. Agriculture and Bachelor in Veterinary Science.

Hi student!

A cost sharing seat refers to self-financing seats. The difference between that and a free seat is that in the latter you pay the admission fee at the time of first admission and the rest of the years, its free of cost except for a nominal registration and other miscellaneous fees. But for a cost sharing seat, you need to pay your readmission fee every year (which is often the same as the first admission fee).

Fee structure cost of seat sharing of V .Sc. & A.H. (Development Fee) is Rs.34,500/- + 42,000.00 I along with Internet/ Comp.  Lab Fee- Rs.7,500/-

for details of the fee structure view this site:http://www.ouat.nic.in/feestr

Dear Aspirant,

You have performed extremely poorly in OUAT or Odisha University Of Agriculture and Technology. With only 68.125 marks in the state agriculture entrance test, it is highly unlikely that you will get admission in any of the good Institutes of the state including all government Institutes of Odisha.

As far as getting a seat for Agriculture is concerned, you probably won't get it as you have not crossed the cutoff marks which is 70 for general category students. However, you have crossed the cutoff marks for forensic science and forestry. Still just getting the passing marks shall not be enough for you.

Another sad aspect of it is that the number of seats for bothe forestry and forensic science are extremely limited. The number of seats are so limited that it pales in comparison to the number of applicants. So I hope you understand the gravity of the situation that you are in right now and your perilous position of getting admission in a college.

Right now, you should explore your options and look for some good private institutes of the state offering your preferred course to students of your rank. But before joining any of the Institutes, you should compare these colleges based on their merits and demerits and see for yourself which is the best college for you to pursue graduation.

In order to compare colleges, all you need to do is to just click on this URL:-

This is a great comparison tool and shall be able to answer your queries in the way that it is meant to be.

Hello Aspirant,

The ICAR cutoffs and ranks vary with factors like number of seats available, number of applicants and the category you belong to . Assuming you are from general category , you need score above 450 and come under first 500 ranks in order to get into top agriculture colleges or institutes . With respect to Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, you would need a rank below 1000 to stand a fair chance for admission.

All the best

Hello!

Whatever the marks are they are calculated in the basis, first your marks which is divided by the total marks. Which must be multiplied with hundred (for percentage calculation we should multiply with hundred).

Marks secured / total marks * 100

This is how each and every mark is converted into percentage. ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was of some help.

Thank You
