How to Write a Novel: Edit & Revise course is being offered by edX in collaboration with the University of British Columbia. This course aims to teach the learners the techniques of revision and paying attention to details to build a good story. Through this course, the participants will undergo a rigorous revision and self-editing process and the different stages of manuscript development. They will develop the requisite skills to polish their novel and position themselves better in today's competitive publishing marketplace. They will understand the editorial process from scratch.
By analyzing the three journeys every novel undertakes (internal, external, aesthetic) and the choices associated with prose style, learners will sharpen their critical skills and build a rewriting plan designed to meet the needs of their projects. Participants will develop an independent writing practice and connect with a community of individuals familiar with the issues of novel writing. Candidates will find two tracks to finish off the course hence if the candidates choose the Audit track, they will only be able to access the course for a specified period. Whereas in the case of Verified track selection, they will be receiving access for an unlimited period.
