223rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the NAAC was conducted on October 30, 2024.
About Aditanar College of Arts and Science, Tiruchendur
Aditanar College of Arts and Science,Tiruchendur founded in 1965 is an affiliated college situated in Virapandianpatnam, Tamil Nadu. Having plaed an important role in the shaping and development of the youth for over five decades, this institution has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Located on a vast area of 86.16 acres, the college has a total of 8 degree programmes including 30 courses in total at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of education. This institution has a total enrolment of 1805 registered students and faculty strength of sixty eight, which gives the college an ideal student faculty ratio and hence, promote quality education.
Aditanar College of Arts and Science has fully equipped and developed learning facilities which allow the college to offer its students value adding facilities. The rich collection of books in the school library is over 58000 titles with current text books and competitive examination reference books. The college also offers hostel accommodation to those living on campus. The boys hostel has 72 rooms fully furnished, TV hall and a large dining hall for the students. The girls hostel also has 72 rooms fully furnished and a large dining hall as well as a TV hall. It also promote student health through gym and other sporting facilities, including a functional workout area. For enabling students to pursue their academic studies more effectively, Aditanar College has modern computer laboratory and well equipped practical science laboratories. There is also a canteen, an auditorium, a parking space for cars and other students’ vehicles, guest house, and a health centre with first aid facilities for all students.
Aditanar College of Arts and Science in order to fulfill the students’ needs, provides numerous courses for selection. They offer 30 courses which comprise of 21 full time undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and research programmes under M.Phil and Ph.D. The courses offered include B.Com, BA in English and Economics, B.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Computer Science, M.Sc in Mathematics, M.Phil Self Financing in Zoology, Chemistry, English, and Economics.
