Annapurna Memorial College of Education in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, has various programs to cater toward the field of education with an up-to-date admission procedure, it is a college sanctioned by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and conducts three full-time courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Master of Education (M.Ed.), and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Admissions to the Annapurna Memorial College of Education are invited every year, most of the time coinciding with the academic calendar beginning around August-September. The admission procedure is framed in a way in which candidates are chosen on the basis of their academic merit and performance in qualifying examination.
For the B.Ed. course, admissions are given based on the total marks obtained through Secondary, Higher Secondary, Graduation, and Post-Graduation examinations. This widely considered procedure gives due regard to students who have performed reasonably well throughout their academic journey. For the D.El.Ed. and M.Ed. programs, admissions are merit-based. The criteria for awarding admission include marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or performance in the entrance tests, which are in accordance with state government or university policies. The relative weight assigned to each criterion may differ from session to session and is generally announced prior to the admission process in a given session.
Application Process
The application procedure varies slightly for each program at Annapurna Memorial College of Education; however, generally, the procedure follows:

2. Application Form: Candidates have to fill out the application form, which may be online on the college website or in offline mode from the campus of the university.

8. Fee Payment: The selected candidates need to deposit the course fee within the given time to confirm their admission.
Degree-wise admission process
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. programs at Annapurna Memorial College of Education have an approved intake of 100 seats. Admission to this program is based on the cumulative score obtained from the candidate's academic performance in Secondary, Higher Secondary, Graduation, and Post-Graduation examinations. This holistic approach ensures that the overall academic journey of the applicant is taken into account. The applicant shall be eligible only if he/she possesses a graduate degree in any stream that is relevant to the B.Ed. program.
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. program offers 50 seats and is based on merit for the admission process. The selection committee will consider the marks/grade point average of the candidates obtained in the qualifying examination and/or scores from the entrance examination. The merit list may be adjusted according to the rules determined by the state government/Union Territory Administration. This program develops skill and knowledge for the persons intending to become elementary school teachers.
M.Ed.(Master of Education): The M.Ed. program will also have an intake of 50. The selection into the M.Ed. is based on the merit of the students in the examination qualifying them (usually a B.Ed. degree) and/or performance in a separate entrance examination. This includes policy directions from the government of the respective state, the university, or the union territory administration. This advanced degree is appropriate for those wanting to build an extended expertise or further their research opportunities in the field of education.
