Apollo College of Education, Durg Admission Process

Apollo College of Education at Durg is one of the leading colleges providing teacher education in the State of Chhattisgarh, India. The College has adopted a criterion-based comprehensive approach to students' admission in which qualified candidates will be selected for each of its various education programs. The admission process commences with the observance of the guidelines as stated by the state government, university as well as UT administration, and thereafter the College admits students purely on a fair and merit basis. Eligibility criterion is program dependent; for undergraduate courses such as B.Ed. and D.El.Ed., a candidate must possess a valid 10+2 education from the concerned board. 

In the case of postgraduate programs such as M.Ed., a bachelor's degree in the respective discipline must be held. There is also a Ph.D. program in Education with its own specific set of eligibility criteria. Any marks obtained in qualifying examinations and/or in entrance examinations conducted by different state or national bodies are taken into consideration. Any other modalities may also be included at the sole discretion of the state government, university, or UT administration.

Application Process

The process of admission to the Apollo College of Education Durg extends through these generic steps:

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): Admission to B.Ed. at Apollo College of Education is by merit only, based on an aggregate percentage of qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The remaining admission procedures are conducted following the policy of the state government, university, and UT administration regarding admissions.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): There are 100 approved intake seats for the D.El.Ed. program, with admission following similar protocols as B.Ed. Admission is, therefore, based on marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, followed by any other selection process as determined by the competent authorities.

M.Ed. (Master of Education): The M.Ed. program at Apollo College of Education has recognized intake of 50 places. Admission to this postgraduate program is made solely on merit held by candidates in the qualifying examinations or entrance examination or other selection process as per the policy of the state government, university, or UT administration.

Ph.D. Education: Apollo College of Education also has openings for Doctor of Philosophy programs in Education. While no specific implementation details are mentioned, the selection process is generally more intense and involves some combination of entrance tests, interviews, and proposals.
