About Aurora's Design Academy, Hyderabad

Aurora’s Design Academy, Hyderabad, was set up in the year 2015 and is an affiliated college set in the lively city of Hyderabad in the state of Telangana. This institute of design and architecture has been approved by the Council of Architecture that also governs education in design and architecture. Covering a total area of 0.86776 acres, Aurora’s Design Academy continues to grow and develop not only a new and modern campus that it occupies in Hyderabad but also a new and refined pedagogy where 143 students attend the academy. The institute has 15 dedicated faculty members. 

Several accommodations in the institute make sure that the students have a favourable environment, and the establishment will provide essential amenities for students. On the campus, there are separate hostels for boys and girls with comfortable and large rooms that are well furnished and equip with TV, telephone and internet connection. The library  is a treasure trove of information on architecture, urban planning and allied technical disciplines. It has stocked a number of books, national and international journals, and popular technical magazines. The Multimedia Centre section has ten computers connected to the internet and the members can access various e-library International journal. For recreation and exercising, Aurora’s Design Academy has a 910 sq.m multipurpose outdoor games facility for such activities as badminton, volley ball and cricket. Carroms and chess, which can be played indoors, are also available in a few of the outdoor and partly outdoor facilities.

Aurora's Design Academy offers three full-time courses. These are B.Arch, B.Tech Planning, and M.Arch Interior Design. The overall capacity for these courses are 100 students in which 80 intake for the B.Arch programme and 20 intake for M.Arch Interior Design. 

The entry requirement at Aurora’s Design Academy differs from one course to another. For the B.Arch programme, the admission is through NATA – National Aptitude Test in Architecture , an entrance examination. The B.Tech Planning course is in a different system with 70 positions under counselling procedure and 30 positions under management quota. It also offers admission in this programme through the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test –TS EAMCET conducted by JNT University Hyderabad. For the M.Arch Interior Design programme, it is enroled through the PGCET or GATE test. GATE, NATA and TS EAMCET are the standard entrance test accepted by the institute making the competition reasonable with the deserved students.

Admittance to Aurora's Design Academy is based upon whether or not the candidates selected are deserving and talented individuals keen on an undergraduate or masters program. The academy recognizes as comprehensive in terms of the procedures it employs for admissions that consider national level entrance options for different courses, as approved by the Council of Architecture. For undergraduate admissions, Aurora's Design Academy mainly considers the result of the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for the B.Arch program. The current admission for B.Tech Planning is through TS EAMCET scores conducted by JNTU Hyderabad.

Normally, this is how the cycle of admissions goes with the academic year-all applications will be accepted during the months leading to the start of the academic session. Interested applicants should regularly check the official website of Aurora's Design Academy for some important dates related to application submission, admission test schedules, and result announcements. Eligibility criteria differ, especially for different programs. The applicants for the B.Arch program should have completed the 10+2 course, with the following three subjects compulsory: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Application Process

Applications to Aurora's Design Academy depend on the program chosen:

For B.Arch:

  1. Take the NATA examination.
  2. Visit the official website of Aurora's Design Academy.
  3. Fill out the online application form for the B.Arch program.
  4. Upload requisite documents such as NATA score card, 10+2 mark sheets, and other needed qualifications.
  5. Pay application fee online.
  6. Submit the completed application form.

For M.Arch Interior Design:

  1. Take either the PGCET or GATE examination.
  2. Head on to the Aurora's Design Academy website and navigate to the M.Arch Interior Design application link.
  3. Provide details regarding personal and educational information through the online application.
  4. Upload scanned copies of relevant documents, including PGCET/GATE score card, bachelor's degree certificate, and mark sheets.
  5. Make payment for the required application fee using the online payment gateway given.
  6. Submit the application and wait for further instructions for the selection process.

For B.Tech Planning:

For the 70% seats under TS EAMCET counseling:

  • Undergo the TS EAMCET organized by JNT University Hyderabad.
  • Attend the counseling process per the TS EAMCET schedule.
  • If allotted a seat in Aurora's Design Academy, report to the institute for document verification and admission formalities.

2. For the 30% management quota seats:

  • Directly approach the admissions office of Aurora's Design Academy.
  • Submit the documents as required along with the other specific instructions that the institute has indicated for management quota admissions.

Documents that usually would be required for any of the above programs include the following:

  • Duly filled application form
  • A few passport size photos
  • 10th and 12th marks sheets and certificates
  • Entrance examination scorecard (as applicable: NATA/TS EAMCET/PGCET/GATE)

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Arch: The Bachelor of Architecture program at Aurora's Design Academy accepts a maximum of 80 students. The admission to this program is based on the performance of the candidate in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The NATA exam measures the aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking, and drawing skills of applicants, which are essential to pursue a bachelor's degree in architecture.

M.Arch Interior Design: Approved intake for this program is 20 students. The selection process for M.Arch Interior Design is based on the PGCET or GATE score. Eligible applicants are those who have received a bachelor's degree in architecture or a related discipline. The selection process may comprise evaluation of the applicant's academic record and performance on the admission examination.

B.Tech Planning: Aurora's Design Academy offers a B.Tech Planning course with a very distinct admission process. A total of 70% of the seats in this program for students are admitted based on counseling based on TS EAMCET scores. The other 30% of the seats are reserved for management quota admissions. This program is considered apt for students who have an interest in urban planning and development.
