Baikuntha College of Education,Alipurduar, and is one of the oldest recognized institutions for teacher education in West Bengal, India. thereby providing students with a focused approach towards developing their careers into aspiring teachers. The merit for B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. is based on the policy of West Bengal state government and the university with which the college is affiliated. This course aims at preparing students for teaching as a profession in secondary and higher secondary schools.
D.El.Ed.: The Diploma in Elementary education (D.El.Ed.) is also a full-time course of two years offered in the college with 50 seats. Admission to D.El.Ed. is determined by merit in qualifying examination or entrance examination, or other selection process as decided by the State Government or UT administration. Primary and upper primary levels of education, this program is aimed at training teachers.
