Greetings aspirant,
With a CRL rank of 300739 and OBC NCL rank of 105829, getting CSE or ECE in top UP governmental college like BIET Jhansi, KNIT Sultanpur, MMMUT and AITH Kanpur will be extremely difficult. These colleges usually close OBC NCL ranks for CSE and ECE under 20,000-40,000 ranks depending on the institute and year. But don't worry , you can still try for the lower demand branches in later rounds and keep checking for updates about spot rounds and internal counseling. Also, since your parental income is under Rs. 1 lakh you may benefit from fee waivers and several scholarships but please know that admission depends mainly on rank. Keep a back up option ready for you.
Good luck!
Hi Zeeshan,
Your DCET rank is 7500 and the cutoffs for the colleges you applied to are below your rank, so that’s why you didn’t get a seat in the 1st round.
Yes, there is still a chance to get a seat in the 2nd round if the cutoff goes higher. Cutoffs may increase if some students don’t confirm their seats.
Also, yes, you can add or change colleges in the 3rd round during option entry. So, keep checking the official website and choose colleges with higher cutoffs than your rank for better chances.
Hope it helps!
Yes, you are eligible for the SNQ (Supernumerary Quota) seat at BIET College, Davanagere because your annual income is Rs 40,000, which is below the required limit of Rs 6 lakh.
The college keeps 5% extra seats in each course for students under SNQ quota. For example, in Computer Science, if there are 360 seats, around 18 of them are for SNQ students. These seats are given only to students with low income and good KCET ranks.
Your KCET rank is 28,560. Whether you get a seat under SNQ depends on how many students with better ranks than you also apply for SNQ. So, you have a fair chance, especially if you apply for branches with slightly lower demand.
Make sure you have your income certificate ready during the KCET counselling. If you choose your options wisely, there is a good chance you can get a seat under SNQ in BIET.
