Central Polytechnic College is an oldest technical institution situated at Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, which was started in the year 1958. This affiliated college, recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has long been preparing technical professionals for over 60 years. The college occupies a large piece of land of 25.4 acres and provides an ideal climate for education. Total pass outs were 715 and the full time faculty strength of the institute is 51 therefore ample of care and quality consciousness is accorded. The college is majorly involved in the provision of diploma courses in a range of engineering disciplines, to meet the requirements of technology or technical staff.

This college has Lemma Equipment, Department Equipment, Sports Facility & Equipment, and Computer & Audio-Visual Equipment that aids in the learning process of the learners. Established as one of the finest libraries in polytechnic colleges in Kerala, it has above 31000 volumes, 7216 titles, and 18 journals. This processing centre is fully automated processed with Koha Software and serves as an Information Commons that is accessible to both students and faculties. 

A well-equipped modern laboratory for each branch of the campus is available, this is particularly important for the technical aspect of education.
