Central Polytechnic College, Thiruvananthapuram, is one of the oldest technical institutions in Kerala and India. The AICTE accreditation renders the institution as a full technical school for producing trained technical professionals in the last 60 years. 

The admission procedure at this institution is arranged to select the deserving candidates. The college offers six full-time diploma programs of three-year duration each. Each of these programs has been sanctioned an intake of 60 students, allowing the best possible use of resources coupled with individual attention.

1. Notification: Admission notification for admission releases via the local newspapers and announcements in college.

2. Application Form: Candidates can obtain the application form from the college premises.

3. Form Filling: Carefully fill in the application form with correct personal and academic information.

4. Document Submission: The completed application form must be submitted along with:

   • Attested photocopy of the 10th standard mark sheet

   • Date of birth proof (10th certificate or birth certificate)

   • Category certificate (if applicable)

   • Recent passport-size photographs

   • Any other documents specified in the admission notification

5. Submitting Applications: The applications with documents should be submitted to the college admission office before the deadline.

6. Entrance Examination: Candidates may be required to take an entrance examination, if any, as may be required by the state technical education board.

7. Merit List: Based on merit, merit lists are prepared on both academic performance and entrance exam scores (if applicable).

• Diploma in Civil Engineering: Admission is based on merit in the qualifying examination and any entrance test conducted by the state technical education board.

• Diploma in Computer Engineering: Admission considers the candidate's performance in the 10th standard, focusing on Mathematics and Science scores.

• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Academic performance in Physics and Mathematics is prioritized in the admission of candidates in this diploma course.

• Diploma in Electronics Engineering: Admission takes into account marks in the 10th standard, with emphasis on Science and Mathematics.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: Admission considers merit in the qualifying examination, particularly the results in Mathematics and Science.

• Diploma in Textile Technology: Admission takes into consideration the overall performance in the 10th standard, with additional credit given to aptitude in textile-related subjects.
