The DBAET’s SBG Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Belagavi, is very young to education system in India as it was founded in the year 2019. This affiliated college belongs to the Rani Channamma University of Belagavi, Karnataka and it offers Ayurvedic medicine. The institute is recognised by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) this makes its recognition in Ayurvedic course standard. located in a large piece of land of 10 acres allow the college to have adequate space to embrace learning and research. It has a faculty of twenty dedicated persons who are responsible for providing and imparting quality education in Ayurvedic system of medicine.
The institute has a wide variety of resources, which are intended to improve students’ outcomes. The college has well equipped laboratories to conduct number of investigations in hematology, serology, biochemistry as well as in microbiology. These labs constitute unique learning environments and trainings that allow practical experiences. The library has a formidable collection of books and other reading material, with approximately 3000 Ayurvedic and modern medical books, 90 books of various national and international journals, 28 magazines , and 08 newspapers. It also alongside has a BPL digital library with internet connection, which is opened from 10 AM to 5 PM of every working day. For students’ accommodation, the college has separate hostels for boys and girls including, fifty rooms each for boys and girls’ hostels. The rooms are well furnished with ward robe, cot, book shelves, study table and chairs. There is security in the school by installating CCTV cameras which are monitored by the Principal and Hostel Warden. The college also has very modern and professional sporting infrastructure such as international skating ground and cricket ground to enhance extra curriculum activities.
The SBG Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital being run by DBAET at present provides one full time course that is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery commonly known as BAMS. These include a six year long programme that covers from the basics to the advance level of Ayurvedic form of medicine. This college has an approved admission capacity of 60 students for this programme so that there will be proper student teacher ratio for effective learning.
