The Programme in the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Ernakulam, Kerala, is a premier institution for the study of polymers and rubber technology. This constituent department of CUSAT has been imparting polymer education and carrying out research activities for more than five decades since its establishment in 1971. In addition to full-time programmes, the department also delivers undergraduate degree in B.Tech, Masters degree in M.Tech, and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering in the relevant stream of engineering. The B.Tech admissions are based on the entrance examination named as CUSAT CAT which is conducted in Cochin University of Science and Technology in the months of April or may. This entrance tests usually begins its registration in the December or in the early Januarys. For the M.Tech programme, admission is granted normally on the basis of the performance in GATE examination.

B.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology:
A 4-year undergraduate program with an intake of 20 students. The admission to this program will be based on the performance in the CUSAT CAT conducted by the university in April/May. Registration to appear for this exam begins in December/January.
M.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology:
This master's degree program is of 2 years duration and accommodates 10 students at a time.
Doctoral Programs:
The department offers several specialized Ph.D. programs, such as Polymer Nanocomposites; Conducting Polymers; Adhesives and Coatings; Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery Applications; and much more. Admission into Ph.D. programs is via a Departmental Admission Test (DAT) conducted in May/June to which students must apply usually from January through March.
