Dharumapuram Gnanambigai Government Arts College for Women, Nagapatinam was started in the year 1967, situated at Mayiladuthurai, Tamilnadu being one of the pioneer institutions in the field of higher education. This affiliated college is located in a 14 acres of land only for women and the college offers quality education for women only. Recognized by the NAAC, the college provides 36 different combinations of the subject across 7 degree programs. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc Programs:

For B.Sc Chemistry, it has 120 seats, for B.Sc Mathematics it has 30 seats for the regular shift and 30 seats for the second shift, and B.Sc Computer Science has 24 seats for regular as well as the second shift. Admission into the programs is based on marks achieved in the subject in the 12th standard exam.
BA Courses:
The BA courses include English, History, Tamil, and Economics. BA English is offered with 50 seats for the day shift and 30 seats for the second shift. BA History and BA Tamil both have 40 seats each. Admission to the BA courses depends on the aggregate percentage in the 12th standard with special weightage given to the marks in the concerned core subjects.
BBA and B.Com Courses:
The college offers BBA and B.Com courses with 40 seats in each course. Admission into the courses is based on marks obtained in commerce stream subjects at 12th standard.
MA Programs
Postgraduate programs such as MA Economics, MA History, MA Tamil, and MA English are offered. These programs typically have 30-35 seats per course. Admission to MA programs is based on marks obtained in the corresponding bachelor's degree.
M.Sc Programs:
M.Sc courses are offered in Mathematics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Zoology. Seats range from 20 to 30 for different M.Sc courses. Admission is given on the basis of performance in the respective bachelor's degree.
Ph.D Courses
The college is also offering Ph.D programs in Tamil, History, Mathematics, Physics, and Biochemistry. Admission is based on marks obtained at the master's level and may or may not involve an entrance test and interview procedure.
