With a NEET UG 2024 score of 665, you have a strong chance of securing admission in a top government medical college under the West Bengal state quota. Based on previous years’ trends, your All India Rank is likely to be in the range of 25,000 to 40,000, which places you in a competitive position for state quota seats. Government medical colleges such as Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC), Burdwan Medical College , and Barasat Government Medical College have seen closing ranks within your range in the past, especially for the Unreserved (UR) category. These colleges are highly reputed and offer excellent clinical exposure and academic infrastructure.

Additionally, private medical colleges such as KPC Medical College, Jadavpur , may also be accessible to you through state quota or management quota if required, although government seats should be your first priority given your score. During the counselling process conducted by WBMCC (West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee), you should ensure to list all top government colleges in your choice filling. Keep track of WBMCC's official announcements and be prepared with necessary documents for verification. If you belong to a reserved category (OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST), your chances may improve even further.

In conclusion, with 665 marks, you are in an excellent position to secure admission in a government MBBS seat in West Bengal. Stay updated with counselling schedules, prioritize top colleges during choice filling, and consider private colleges as a backup option if needed.

Hello Zaman, great to hear about your interest in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding. To provide you an idea about the salary in India, to for an entry level Naval Architect it would range from around 3.5 to 6 LPA, depending on the employer (i.e., Indian Navy, Cochin Shipyard, L&T Shipbuilding, etc.) and the level of qualification (B.Tech or M.Tech).

On the other hand, abroad (countries like Norway, USA, UK, Singapore, and UAE), have significantly higher salaries with Naval Architects starting off entry level salaries of 50,000 - 80,000 dollars p.a. and also much better infrastructure and research and development opportunities.

So yes, it is a growing field in India however, many professionals see more challenging projects and thus better salaries abroad, it is seen as a preferred location to long-term growth within this industry.

Hello,

Your rank is pretty high as a general category. And we know mop up round occur if  any seats are left vacant after the second round. In Karnataka 1st counselling started from November 1st week. Then 2nd and mop up round, its very lengthy process.

I think you will try for another colleges in different state also near you.

No, it's not required to register separately, to get MBBS seat in All India Quota. You just need to register on MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) https://mcc.nic.in. This registration will give you access to MBBS seats across most states under AIQ. 15% seats in all government medical colleges (except AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU, BHU, etc. which also participate via MCC) are reserved for AIQ.

But if you want to avail the State quota you may require to register for different state's counselling authority like

  • Maharashtra (CET Cell)

  • Karnataka (KEA)

  • Tamil Nadu (TN Medical Selection)

  • Uttar Pradesh (DGME UP)

  • Rajasthan (RUHS)

Hope it helps

Indeed, even if you completed your 12th grade in Delhi, you are still eligible for the West Bengal state quota if your parents are WB domiciled and you present the necessary domicile certificate (Proforma B).

Yes, since you belong to the SC category, scored 61% in 12th from West Bengal (your home state), and got 87 percentile in JEE Mains, you are eligible for JoSAA counseling. With 87 percentile and SC category, you have a chance to get admission in NITs, especially in lower or home-state quota branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Metallurgy in NIT Durgapur or other newer NITs. Fill your choices smartly and keep options open. You do have a good chance!
