Hello student,

With a score of 236 in NEET 2024, your chances of getting admission to an MBBS program are quite limited, especially in government colleges. However, here are some considerations for your situation:

1. State Quotas:

  • Admission chances can vary by state. Some states may have lower cutoffs for government medical colleges, but with a score of 236, it may still be challenging to secure a seat.

    2. Private Medical Colleges:

  • You might have better opportunities in private medical colleges, where the cutoffs are generally lower than those for government colleges. Check private medical colleges in states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, or Tamil Nadu, where you may find options.

    3. BDS and Other Courses:

  • If MBBS seems out of reach, consider other allied health courses or BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) programs, which might have lower cutoffs.

    4. Counseling Process:

  • Participate actively in the counseling process. Make sure to check both state and All India Quota (AIQ) counseling options.

Given your rank and score, securing a government MBBS seat may be very difficult. However, exploring private colleges and other healthcare-related courses in states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, or Uttar Pradesh might provide some options.

Hello Aman,

Yes, the fees for Gauhati Medical College and Hospital are generally different for All India Quota (AIQ) seats and State Quota seats. Here’s how it typically works:

Fee Structure:

  1. All India Quota (AIQ) Seats :

    • The fees for AIQ seats are usually set by the college and may be higher compared to state quota seats. This fee structure is applicable to students who qualify through the AIQ counseling conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) or the relevant medical counseling authority.

  2. State Quota Seats :

    • Fees for state quota seats are determined by the state government and are often lower than the fees for AIQ seats. The state quota is specifically reserved for candidates who are residents of that state.

      Additional Considerations:
  • Hostel and Other Fees : Keep in mind that additional fees for hostel accommodation, lab materials, and other facilities may also differ based on the quota.

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid : Some states offer scholarships or financial assistance to eligible students, which may affect the overall cost.

If you are considering admission to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, it’s important to check the latest fee structure on their official website or contact the administration for the most accurate and updated information.

It will be challenging to secure a seat in the top or more popular NITs or IIITs with an ST category rank of 13,000 in JEE Mains , especially for branches like CSE or ECE, as they typically have higher cutoffs. However, you might have a chance in the following:

For NIT's:

  • Newer NITs or those in less competitive locations may offer seats in branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Metallurgy.
  • NITs with Home State Quota: If you apply under the home state quota, some NITs may have lower cutoffs for the ST category.

For IIIT's:

  • Newer IIITs or IIITs with less demand may offer you a chance, although it may not be for the most sought-after branches.

Hello student,

With an All India rank of 34,660 in NEET 2024 and being from the OBC category in Rajasthan, you have a possibility of securing a seat in a government medical college under the defense quota, especially given your father’s status as an ex-serviceman. Here are some important points to consider:

Key Considerations:

  1. Defense Quota Seats : Many government medical colleges reserve a certain percentage of seats under the defense quota for children of ex-servicemen. This can significantly improve your chances, as these seats often have lower cutoffs compared to the general category.

  2. Previous Year Cutoffs : Check the previous year's cutoffs for defense quota seats in government medical colleges in Rajasthan and other states. This will give you an idea of where your rank might place you regarding available seats.

  3. State Quota Seats : Since you are from Rajasthan, you will also be eligible for state quota seats, which can further enhance your chances of admission. State quotas generally have a separate allocation for local candidates.

  4. Counseling Process : Ensure that you participate in both the All India and state-level counseling processes. During the choice-filling phase, prioritize colleges with available defense quota seats.

  5. OBC Considerations : Being in the OBC category may also work in your favor, as some colleges have different cutoffs for OBC candidates.

Overall, with an All India rank of 34,660, you have a reasonable chance of getting into a government medical college under the defense quota, especially in Rajasthan. Stay informed about the counseling process, check cutoff trends, and apply strategically to maximize your opportunities.

Hello there,

With a NEET score of 529, an all-India rank of 162763, and a category rank of 80063, your options for medical colleges will vary significantly based on the state you are looking to apply to and the specific cutoff trends for that year.

Possible College Options :

  1. Government Medical Colleges : Your chances are slim for government colleges under the general category with this rank, but you might explore state-specific options where the cutoffs are relatively lower.

    • Check colleges like Karnataka ’s government medical colleges, which might have some seats available under state quota.

  2. Private Medical Colleges : You have a better chance at private medical colleges, as they often have higher intake and might accept students with your rank. Some options include:

    • KIMS, Bangalore
    • MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore
    • Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal
    • Sree Gokulam Medical College, Kerala

  3. Deemed Universities : Consider deemed universities, which often have different admission criteria and may allow you to secure a seat:

    • NRI Medical College, Guntur
    • Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune

It’s essential to keep an eye on the counseling process for the latest updates on seat availability and cutoff trends. Participating actively in counseling will give you the best chance of securing a seat in a college.
