The Faculty of Technology, NDA, Pune is a well-known institution to provide education to the Union of India’s defence forces since 1955. Located at Khadakwasla on a vast campus of 7,015 acres, this esteemed organisation brings to its enrolled students the best of both worlds: paramilitary training and education. The faculty mainly has 81 dedicated teacher educators who help students find their way through the numerous programmes offered by the university such as the College of Engineering, College of Computer and Information Sciences, and the College of Liberal Arts. Since the NDA’s principal aim is to produce maritime souls capable of steering this great nation, it is the Faculty of Technology, which has bred quality Indian military officers, and made significant strides in this regard.
The students at the Faculty of Technology use numerous assets that help to make their learning more effective. The central core of the academic facilities are the RFID equipped library containing 65 000 volumes. This collection of information includes books, journals, periodicals and magazines that can be used as reference by the cadets. The institution also has well equipped laboratories that meet every department’s need for practicals making it interdisciplinary. In response to the threat by the digital era the faculty has some of the best information technology facilities to enable the cadet face the technological ordeal in modern warfare. In addition, the National Defence Academy lays emphasis on physical fitness as well and has evolved into providing a wide sports complex to inculcate the values or professionalism and team spirit among the cadets. The Faculty of Technology currently provides six courses in three degree programmes hence aspiring to provide for all elements of interests and abilities.
These are presented by full time B.Tech programmes in Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering. For all the liberal science and arts oriented students, the faculty offers a BA as well as B.Sc degree along with a B.Sc (Computer Science).

Similar to all other faculties in the NDA, the admission process to the Faculty of Technology is unique and selective, in an attempt to maintain the institute’s high standards. For undergraduate programmes CUET UG is the most common admission test for the candidates willing to join the University. This written examination makes certain that only candidate with brains and commitment will be charged with the responsibility of leading the future armies.
