Gandhi Institute of Professional and Technical Studies, Meerut Admission Process

Gandhi Institute of Professional and Technical Studies, Meerut (GIPTS), is an illustrious institution providing a multitude of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The institute applies a comprehensive admission process that selects its candidates from all its different programs. GIPTS is an affiliate of Ch. Charan Singh University and recognizes the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The admission process usually starts at GIPTS with announcements of dates in the advertisement relating to application forms, coinciding with the university's academic calendar. Most programs conduct admissions on the basis of merit lists, issued after common entrance examinations conducted by the university or by the state for many other courses. For some courses, the basis for admissions includes marks For part of your performance in your qualifying examination.

Different eligibility criteria exist nationally based on the program, but generally, for undergraduate courses, candidates must have completed their 10 + 2 from a recognized board.

Application Process

The application procedure for the Ghandhi Institute of Professional and Technical Studies, Meerut is slightly different for each course, but normally follows these steps:

1. Notification: The initiation of the admission process is announced by the institute on its website and local newspapers.

2. Application Form: Candidates could download the application form from the institute's site or the admission office in person. For the university-level entrance exam courses, application forms may need to be submitted through university portal. 

3. Document Submission: Candidates would submit the completed application along with the following documents:

  • 10th, 12th marks and certificates
  • Graduation marks and degree certificate (for postgraduate courses)
  • Valid entrance exam score card (if applicable)
  • Category certificate-(SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if applying under reservation quota
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Any other relevant certificates or documents as specified by the institute

4. Entrance Examination: The applicant is required to take the specified test for courses that have an entrance examination. The examination may be given by the university or state education board.

5. Merit List: Following the entrance exam or by qualifying examination marks, the merit list will be drawn up. Management quota seats are subject to other criteria, such as interviews or group discussions.

6. Counseling: Candidates shortlisted will be called for counseling, and they may take up their preferred course based on their rank and availability of seats.

7. Fee Payment: Upon allotment of seat, candidates should pay prescribed fees within time to confirm admission.

8. Document Verification: The institute conducts thorough verification of all submitted documents before finalizing the admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: GIPTS has a total of 100 seats available for the B.Ed program. The two major processes through which admissions are made are:

1. Counseling Seats: Based on merit lists from Ch. Charan Singh University. Management Quota: Applicants need to attempt an entrance test conducted by the university. Under this category, selection is based on prior achievements, test performance, and interviews conducted by the institution.

M.Ed: GIPTS provides 50 seats for M.Ed courses. Admission would consist of:

1. Common Entrance Test: A portion of seats to be filled on the basis of merit list produced by university entrance test.
2. NRI/Management Quota: The remaining seats fall under this category.
Candidates are advised to watch out for entrance test dates that will be announced by the university in local newspapers.

D.El.Ed: This program has in take of 150 seats. Admission is on:

1. Merit in the qualifying examination
2. performance in the entrance examination (if applicable)
3. Any other selection process as per the State Government/UT Administration policy

B.Com: GIPTS has 60 openings for the B.Com course. The modalities of admission are:

1. Merit list produced by the Common Entrance Test conducted by the university
2. Counseling process for allotment of seats
