College has all necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. The classrooms and laboratories are clean and well maintained. The hostels aren’t very clean and food also needs attention. The library is well maintained and has a good collection of books.
I am studying M.Com entrepreneurship and family business. It is a well taught course. However, it doesn’t provide with any practical exposure that the students need. There must be some field visits added to the course.
I didn’t find the placements very good as only students of few courses are placed. A few companies visit the campus and few students are placed in reputable companies but more courses should have placements.
GGDSD College has all the necessary infrastructure facilities and equipments. College students get the facility of using the internet wifi facility and there are 24*7 availability of wifi services in hostel campus. There are many smart rooms in college for clearing the concepts
I am pursuing M.com from this college and reason for doing m.com is to become a professor. In this college there are many teachers who are giving their best and work very passionately but the thing is there are every kind of people on a place so there are some teachers as well who are just doing their job with not that much passion....
Placemnent cell of this college is good and members of this cell try to give their best by invitong the well know companies like - Deloitte, EY etc. Every year many students got placed in well known companies with a handsome package
Its around 30000 per annum and the college has tried to provide the best it can for students in lieu of their fees. It has provided the best facility of library , where students can get the books of their usage and they can study their as well in a peaceful environment . College has provided the study room facility also for the students so that they can utilize their time
College campus is consider as of the best one campus in tricity. Students can take the part in different cultural activities like in annual fests of college . Teachers are very supportive im this college and students are also of cooperafive nature here
Infrastructure of college is very well planned and maintained. The classrooms create a very studious environment. The auditorium and student centre is kept neat and tidy. We have digital library as well that allow us to gather knowledge beyond books.
I'm doing m.com from sd college. This college is well known for commerce faulty. Apart from theoretical knowledge we get practical exposure as well including various seminars and quizzes. Presentations were an integral part of internal marking which makes us job ready.
The whole placement procedure is up to the mark. We get periodic notifications regarding any placement drive. Many good companies visited our campus like Amazon, L&T, Deloitte, ICICI bank, etc. The whole process is simplified and well managed.
For two semesters, the college course costs Rs. 30,000 and I think its value for money. By the end of degree I have confidence, knowledge and a job opportunity with big four.
One of the best feature of GGDSD college campus is the staff that makes the students feel important. Various extracurricular activities keep us engaged throughout the year. Although there can be more flexible time table for the students. The location of college is very well planned i.e. near to pg houses, market and hospital.
The college has an average infrastructure - small but efficient library, reading room, small but maintained gardens. The best buildings consist of the two auditoriums - main and mini which are really good. However, the canteen area is very small and heavily crowded and the college does not have a maintained sports ground or sports activity place. The classrooms are also not good, and are akin to those found in government schools.
The syllabus of the college (which follows Panjab University) is outdated and very theoretical. Almost no practical knowledge is gained, at least in the BA program. The quality of teachers depends on case to case. Some teachers are really good, whereas others are terrible at their job. One reason for the poor quality other than the syllabus is the high students to teacher ratio.
The placements are done for Bcom and BBA students only, and even those offer only low packages. BA students on rare occasions can also apply and compete for those placements. Although my experience is only as a third year student who attended the course online due to the pandemic.
The BA program costed me around Rs. 25,000 per year, so roughly 75000 in total which is very low compared to private universities like Ashoka and Jindal. However, it is also true that the quality of education and facilities are inferior in SD compared to these colleges.
The best thing about the college is its location - Chandigarh, which is a beautiful well planned place. There is no security issue for girls and accommodation is easily available at a low price. In the college, there are various fests held each other and the students can involve in activities like debating, dancing, theatre, etc. The college is the best in the city, but don't expect bright and ambitious students here; most students come from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
If Chandigarh is your only option then keep your first preference Panjab University; in case you are unable to get admission there, then this is college is the next best option. However, if you are academic focused and ambitious, I would recommend Delhi University or private universities like Jindal and Ashoka which have a higher standard of education.
Yes infrastructure was good but can be improved. The calssrooms are well equipped and teachers are amazing. You get to experience a good atmosphere along with some very good classmates along the way .
I studied in bcom hnrs 2017-2020 batch and the curriculum was great. We were taught various subjects like accounts, economics, taxation, operational research, statistics etc. all the subjects added to our knowledge.
Some companies came for placement for the commerce department and they offered pretty good options. Many companies like deloitte, earnst and young, ICICI came for recruitments and offered roles like audit assistant etc.
Rupees 30000 per year was the cost
Best part are the events that take place and the crowd you get is amazing .
They have got all the infrastructural requirements available .The best mini and major auditorium that can host a good footfall. The campus has got a new block for MBA with their own wide setup therby opening new opportunities and a we'll build system for people opting in for higher management course.
Overall teaching is good .Though more practical orientation is needed . The teachers put in a lot of effort and try their best to provide the students with all the resources they can have . The teachers are very invested in students learning .
Need more collaborations. The campus hosts a lot of companies for their annual placement plan but still the college need to work more on the placement cell and should try to being the best for students future .
Fairly good
A lot of student organised fest and informational webinars . A lot to learn from social groups .
The overall experience has been an amazing one ,with lot to learn from various hosts .
The college is well equipped with basic facilities, laboratory, library, books, computer lab, auditorium, cafeteria etc. Indoor sports center and cafeteria could be added to the infrastructure in the coming years. Our classroom was equipped with projector, good quality bench tables, and air conditioning, but not all classes had those facilities.
Teachers were nice and friendly, they also had good command over the subjects. Curriculum could have upgraded as syllabus has been the same over the years, teachers had to include current topics and scenarios as it was not included in the curriculum. Out teachers took initiative to include statistical software and took extra classes and workshops, this could be made permanent for second year students and teach a couple of software to work on.
Our batch had very few chances of on-campus placements, though the faculty member often visited us updating us on possible opportunities. 2 of our batch mates got placed from in-campus placement and 1 was offered job after clearing net.
Though infrastructure and teachers were good, practice knowledge for an economic student is working with data and learning software to help them established themself in the field was somewhere missing. We were introduced to mathematics and statistics for economics in the first year, but software knowledge was unavailable. There are many softwares currently in the market which are used but those are not taught in university give thier students edge over others.
Our college has a huge campus located in the heart of the city beautiful Chandigarh. Almost everything is easily acessible with the campus. The laboratories and libraries are neat with all the epuipment available. The college needs to invest a little on the sports equipment though. The hostels are also satisfactory with well equipped staff.is
I have completed B.A. Hons.(with Economics). It's avery thorough course and the teachers are able to give you some great insights. The college excels specially in Commerce courses though. The curriculum is fixed by Panjab University and is regularly updated
We have had On campus placement drives in the college. Around 70% of the students easily get the job. Although hardly 40% take up the job willingly because rest are generally interested in higher studies
It is a semi government college. The life is totally worth here in terms of money and time invested
I can never forget my three years of college life. It was filled with great academic knowledge. Extra Curricular Activities is something that the students in the college become the best at because of the exposure they get within the campus. You make amazing friends and all your time is just memorable
Yes! College infrastructure is good and well maintained. Hygiene factors are there and kept in mind by the college administration. College auditorium is good and enough to hage gathering of 500 students at a time.
Yes! College provides good teaching faculty and During Covid times also, College took classes online keeping on google classroom and zoom. All the teachers were supportive to the students. Even exams taken by them in organised way.
Overall Quality of placements are decent and No placements are there for BBA so do your research first before joining the college if You have plans to do Job after doing graduation in BBA. Otherwise college is really good.
Course costs you overall 40000 per year
College campus life is decent as You will find one nescafe stand and one canteen serving amazing sandwiches, beverages and North Indian food.
Overall, I would recommend the college if You just want to do graduation or have plans to do post graduation right after your graduation
Appropriate and Very well maintained Infrastructure along with digital attendance, books, and e-library making the learning process easy and accessible. The auditorium and sports grounds are well equipped for co-curricular activities.
The course structure is simplified and fun to study. Visiting Faculties and seminars happen frequently along with mid-semester examinations which makes preparation for final exams easier. A lot of entrepreneurs-based clubs and societies add more value to the course.
Getting into corporate scenes is well looked after because of good companies and enterprises taking students directly from campus placements. The placement cell is well informative and companies visiting campuses have good salary packages as per starters and the drop-out ratio is less.
The fee structure is reasonable and affordable
Campus life is amazing and fun
It's the best college to study commerce in Punjab.

Hello kavya,
Ggdsd is a private college. It has been accredited by NAAC. It was established in the year 1945. The total student strength is around 550 and the faculty strength is 19.
As far as the academics is concerned some teachers often come late and some of the teachers don't teach properly but there are also sincere teachers who teach properly and finish the syllabus properly.
The fees is low of this college and this college has good return on investment. Only 25k is charged per year as tuition fee.
