Hello,
As you have mentioned that your general rank is 840 and your branch rank is 281 which indeed is a good rank.
Now, if you belong to general category it is very tough. last year's fourth round cut off was around 850–900 (164 marks ) . Now, the cutoff changes every year depending on various factors.. So, this year the cutoff might have changed by 10 to 15 marks.
So, looking this whole scenario you have decent chances to get mechanical engineering.
All the best!
Looking at previous years closing ranks, it does not seem that you will get any branch in Government college of Engineering Aurangabad. Maximum rank which got a seat was around 12000 in open category. So you can look for other college options available for you.

Hi,
I would suggest you go through the last year cutoffs of all the rounds of CAP Process on the following link.
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/mht-cet-cutoff
Make sure you look for proper cutoffs according to Quota (General, Ladies, PWD, TFWS), category and also according to the home or other than home university.
Already first round is over. Now you can have a look at current vacant seats if any for your desired college and hence know the chances of getting it.

Hello Aspirant
For getting admission in Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, one must secure a good rank in MHT CET exam. For the case of diploma students, there is a special lateral entry round in which the opportunity is provided to those who want to change their college in 2nd year of Engineering or those who have completed their diploma course. These students registers for the round and depending on the merit, the seat is alloted.
Hope it helped..

Hey harish!
Government engineering college , yavatmal is overall a nice college. But the placement factor of this college is one of the weak points of this college. Firstly , the placements are different for different branches . For branches like mechanical and civil engineering , it is better not to expect any placements from this college. And for branches like CS and IT , the placemts are less than average. Hardly ,50% of the studemts get placed with an average package of 3lpa. So , if you are going to choose this college for placements , better not to choose.

As the cut-off for this college is slightly high, but as you belongs to SC category, you can get admission in this college.

College campus is very good. There are many facilities like a neat and clean mess, etc. The food served is good. Hostel rooms are good. The management of the hostel rooms is great. Bathrooms are always clean, and the gallery is also neat. Computer labs are also good .
The college infrastructure is so good . And the college provides all the facilities like classrooms with good equipment , labs which are well maintained and well equipped with good quality , canteen also .
If u talk about campus then it is not big it is looking like avarage but building of the institution is big and hostel is also good of boys as well as girls.facalties are awesome all teachers are best .
