About GEC Modasa

Government Engineering College Modasa is a government-recognised college that was established in the year 1984 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar, in the North Gujarat region. GEC Modasa is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad. From 1984 to 2007, the college was affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU), Patan. Government Engineering College Modasa is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. 

Government Engineering College Modasa offers a total of two degrees and 9 UG and PG programmes. A few courses offered by the GEC Modasa are BE Information Technology, BE Civil Engineering, BE Computer Engineering, ME Transportation Engineering, ME Computer Science and Engineering, and others. To get admission to B.E programmes, candidates need to appear for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET), which is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) or JEE Main. For M.E programmes, candidates have to appear for the entrance exam- PGCET. Candidates with a valid GATE score are offered direct admission to the M.E. programme.

GEC Modasa Scholarship

Government Engineering College, Modasa offers various scholarships for meritorious and needy students. Government Engineering College, Modasa scholarships depends upon various factors like the past academic performance of the candidate, family income of the candidate and category. The GEC Modasa scholarship includes MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swalamban Yojana), Scholarship for SEBC/OBC category and Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS). For Government Engineering College, Modasa scholarship, candidates have to meet the required eligibility criteria. Students can also get a loan from any public or private sector bank. The maximum loan amount is Rs 15 lakhs. For loans up to Rs. 5 lakhs, there is no need for a guarantee or collateral security. After one year of course completion or six months of employment, repayments will begin (whichever is earlier). The student loan will be disbursed in full or inappropriate installments, depending on the amount of money required and/or the fee schedule charged directly by the bank to the educational institution. Rs. 50,000 or 50% of tuition fees whichever is less.

Students should have obtained at least 80% in 10+2 Science and have a family income of less than Rs.6 lakhs per year to be eligible for the scholarship.

Scholarship for SEBC/OBC Category

Rs. 50,000 or 50% of tuition fees whichever is less.

The student must belong to the OBC category and family income must be less than Rs. 2,50,000 annum.

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS)

Students do not have to pay tuition fees in SFI under the TFW scheme (approximately Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,00,000).

TFWS is available to students whose parents have an annual income of less than Rs. 6 lakhs.


The TFW scheme will be in effect for the entire duration of the course (4 years).


To be eligible for the TFW Scheme, the candidate must submit an income certificate issued after March 31st from either a 'Mamlatdar' or a 'Taluka Development Officer (TDO)' or a 'Collector(Jan Seva Kendra)' when filling out the application form (registration for admission).
