Hooghly College of Education, Hooghly. It is a co-educational college that aims to provide training to teachers. The college runs two major courses: B.Ed and D.El.Ed. Admission at Hooghly College of Education is strictly on merit basis according to the norms set by the state government and the parent university.
Both the B.Ed and D.El.Ed eligibility are strictly through the marks of the candidate in the qualifying examination. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed: The Bachelor of Education course at Hooghly College of Education is approved for 100 students. The admission to the B.Ed course is strictly merit-based, taking into account the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or performance in an entrance examination. The selection is done as per the state government's policy and the affiliated university. The course is of two years duration and leads to secondary school teaching.
D.El.Ed: The D.El.Ed programme has an intake of 50 students. As with the B.Ed programme, the admission to D.El.Ed is strictly merit-based and based on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. The admission procedure is in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the state government or UT administration. This is a two-year teacher training program at the elementary education level.
