    Can be Improved.

    College Infrastructure

The campus has basic facilities with an older building structure. Lecture halls are functional but not very modern. Hostel rooms are decent but may need better maintenance. Library is well stocked but lacks some updated digital resources. Labs have the essentials but equipment can be outdated.

    Academics

Faculty is experienced but teaching quality can vary across departments. Curriculum follows the standard NMC guidelines. Clinical exposure is good due to a steady patient inflow, but practical training can sometimes feel rushed. Tutorials and discussions happen but may not be consistent.

    Placements

Being a government medical college, most graduates go for PG entrance rather than placements. Internship is done in the attached hospital with adequate case exposure. Some students get government postings, but no structured campus recruitment. Alumni network is helpful for guidance.

    Value for Money

Very affordable tuition fees as it’s a government institute. Hostel charges are also reasonable. Considering the fees, the education and exposure are satisfactory, though infrastructure updates could improve value further.

    Campus Life

Campus is located in a scenic area with pleasant weather for most of the year. Student crowd is diverse and mostly focused on academics. Events and fests happen occasionally but are not as frequent as in non-medical colleges.

    Academics

Academics are strong with experienced faculty and good clinical exposure. The teaching is syllabus-oriented with regular internal assessments. However, research opportunities and newer teaching methods could be improved..

    Placements

There are no direct placements, but the college prepares students well for postgraduate entrance exams. Many alumni secure good PG seats in reputed institutes. Internship training is adequate, with a variety of cases in the attached hospital.

    Value for Money

Being a government college, the fees are low compared to private institutes, making it a cost-effective choice. The return in terms of knowledge, degree value, and exposure is considered worth the expense.

    Campus Life

The campus has a peaceful environment in the hills of Shimla. Students enjoy occasional cultural and sports events, but extracurricular activities are not very frequent due to the demanding schedule. Peer interaction and the friendly atmosphere make life manageable.
