Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Dental Sciences Imphal is one the newly established dental institute in the year 2017 at Porompat, Imphal-Manipur. This affiliated college recognized by Dental Council of India provides proper dental education at its small campus area of 5.67 acres. This institute has a faculty of 36 caring individuals all of who are committed towards offering quality education in dentistry. Currently, the institute only has one course, the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) which has an approved admission capacity of 50 students although normally on average the institute enrolls 120 students, this is due to the importance of creating a student to faculty ratio that will allow for adequate practical sessions.

It has several amenities affordably created with the intention of improving the education delivery as well as improving students quality lifestyles. The students of both genders have opportunities for separate hostels in the course of learning so that they can enjoy comfortable living space. Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Dental Sciences (JNIDS), Imphal, is relatively a newer dental institution that aims to provide quality dental education. The institute adopts a merit-based admission process for its premier program, Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The admissions to JNIDS are conducted based on the merit of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG), India's primary entrance examination for dental programs.

The admission procedure of JNIDS is typically as per the timeline of NEET-UG. NEET admission procedure of succeeding session will be from 6th February 2025 to 6th March 2025. The student has to provide the NEET-UG examination, i.e., the first preference factor of admitting the BDS course in JNIDS.

Application Procedure

Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Dental Sciences, Imphal, admissions are linked directly with the NEET-UG test and counseling process that follows. The steps of application sequentially in order are as follows:

1. NEET-UG Application:

  • Get registered for the NEET-UG exam on the official website within the window of applications (February 6, 2025 to March 6, 2025 for the subsequent cycle).
  • Complete the application form and upload documents with care.
  • Pay the application fee as per your category.

2. NEET-UG Examination:

  • Attend the NEET-UG test on the date published.
  • The test generally has Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

  • The seats are allocated on the basis of your NEET-UG rank, category, and JNIDS availability.
  • If there is an allotment of a seat, take the seat by confirming the allotment and fee payment.

Degree wise Admission Procedure

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery):

Dentistry from a college being government is beautiful

College Infrastructure

The college is good in infrastructure with well established hospital and classrooms with pre clinical laboratories. Hostels are also good, separate Hostel for both boys and girls. Girls hostel is more beautiful with an elevator facility. The campus is good with library, cafeteria, playground, auditorium and Administrative block.
