Kaliyaganj College of Education, located in Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, is a co-educational institution offering teacher training programs that are NCTE-approved. The admission mechanism of Kaliyaganj College of Education aims at selecting properly capable candidates for the B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. programs.

The college adopts a merit-based admission process in both programs. For the B.Ed. course, the admission is on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or the performance in the entrance examination if applicable; the D.El.Ed. admission is also merit-based and is decided according to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance test.

Application Process

The application process for Kaliyaganj College of Education is as follows:

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): This program accommodates 100 candidates who are always admitted on merit: academic marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or performance in relevant entrance examination. For all B.Ed. programs, the admission policy of the State Government, Union Territory administration, and the University to which the college is affiliated, are followed. This program is a two-year full-time course for preparing teachers with Models of Teaching and Educational Psychology in Secondary School Teaching.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. program has an intake of 50 seats. The admission process for this course is also merit-based, determined by the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. Any additional selection process prescribed by the concerned authority is also taken into account. This two-year program is designed for primary education teachers. Both programs integrate theoretical and practical teaching to prepare graduates to meet the current teaching challenges.
