KMCH is one of the oldest and popular institutions for providing the nursing education in the state of Tamil Nadu, India since 1993. Spread across an area of 10 acres, this mount Carmel College of Nursing has a strength of 537 students and 57 faculty members.
It is the belief of this college that its students should learn in the best environment that can be provided for them. The campus contains a good library and information center for all students and members of the faculty. Female students are offered college hostel facilities to enable them to have a safer place to stay. Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc. Nursing: This is a four-year undergraduate program that admits 100 students by an approved norm. Admission is based on academic performance at the 10+2 level with science subjects. The eligibility criteria of the Indian Nursing Council and college apply.
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing: This is a two-year program meant for an intake of 40 students, Registered Nurses, who would like to upgrade their qualifications. A Diploma in Nursing and a period of relevant working experience minimum.
M.Sc. Nursing: Various specializations are offered under M.Sc. Nursing at KMCH, such as Medical Surgical Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Psychiatric Nursing. Each of these specializations has a limited intake of between 5-10 seats. Admission is based on the performance of the candidate in B.Sc. Nursing, and the process is supplemented with an entrance test/interview.
Ph.D. in Medical Surgical Nursing: The college offers full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs in Medical Surgical Nursing. Full-time programs have an intake of 6 seats. Candidates are admitted based on their academic excellence, research proposal, and performance at the time of selection.
Post Basic Diploma Programs: KMCH has these specialty diploma programs with an intake of 20 each on Critical Care Nursing and Emergency and Disaster Nursing meant for Registered Nurses who seek to specialize in those areas of Nursing care.

The duration of the course is four years.For being eligible, you should pass 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects. General Category students should score atleast 45% in 10+2 while SC,ST,OBC-A,OBC-B, PWD candidates should score 40%.
